EXISTING TECHNICIAN ROUTE CLOSES ON OCTOBER 31, 2009
The two year window for obtaing a NH Gas Fitter's license via the existing technician application route closes on October 31, 2009. The legislature provided a two year window for those technicians who could demonstrate experience obtained prior to January 1, 2007. That window will close at the end of business on October 31, 2009.

BUSINESS ENTITY LICENSING:
In response to the requests of the gas fitting industry, the NH State Fire Marshal's Office is now providing gas fitting business entity licensing. Any gas fitting business entity that is not a sole proprietorship or a corporation in which there is only one single share holder, is now required to be licensed by the state.

Letters were recently sent out to all companies that were registered with the division as employers. Some of these employers fall under the sole proprietorship exception. If you are a sole proprietorship or a corporation in which you are the only shareholder, you are exempt from the business entity licensing requirement. If you receive a letter indicating that you fall under the criteria for business entity licensing and you are covered by this exemption, simply e-mail the office at fmo@dos.nh.gov and state that you do not have any employees and your business name will be removed from the database.
